This solid Chardonnay from Patricia Green has so much going on, and at this price point beats most other Chardonnays from Oregon. The wine has aromas of lemon peel, ripe stone fruits, jasmine, yellow apple. The palate is layered and reminds me so much of a Chablis, yet a little richer, with a saline, shell texture along with great fruit purity. You know it’s not a Californian Chardonnay and it’s not a Burgundy Chardonnay, hence you are brought to Oregon. What I appreciate about this wine is how it really shows the quality of the Dundee Hills appellation with that crushed stone quality and straight finish.

Food pairing:

Shellfish | Baked chicken | Risotto

Alexander recipe suggestions:

Grilled lobster with garlic butter

Baked chicken thighs with herbs and mushrooms

Butternut squash risotto
