How Alexander describes Three Sticks:

"This boutique Sonoma winery is run by Bill Price, who owns some of the most famous vineyards along the Sonoma Coast. Vineyards include Durell, Gap’s Crown and One Sky, which show a fantastic diversity of terroir and which in turn produce expressive Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. They sell 80% of what they produce, so find that 20%!"

Three Sticks

Wines by Alexander, a Quebec wine agency, is proud to present Three Sticks.

Three Sticks was founded in 2002 by Bill Price, and is named after his surfing nickname ‘Billy Three Sticks’, a name he picked up whilst in Hawaii attending high school. After many years practicing corporate law and working at GE Capital, he co-founded a private equity firm, which invested in vineyards, among other businesses. Early investments included Beringer and Château St. Jean, which purchased fruit from the Durell Vineyard. He then went on to buy Durell Vineyard in 1998. As well as purchasing other vineyards around Sonoma including Gap’s Crown and Walala, he owns part of Kistler, Gary Farrell and Head High. Three Sticks wines are terroir-driven with a focus on the purity of fruit. They have a second label called Head High, which is often produced from their own estate fruit which they did not sell. This is probably the biggest wine secret in California!
